100-word Flash Fiction. #FridayFictioneers
A story inspired by this photo provided by Madison Woods.

“Finally, relief.” I lay back, stretch, and yawn.

This is my place when I’m frightened or overwhelmed or need to escape life’s pressures.

I can see the others, but if I’m real quiet, they never know I’m here.

I like people. People are useful. But sometimes people are intrusive.

When the walls of my other world close in, these walls are my sanctuary.

Occasionally, I need “me time” to think my thoughts — or not think at all.

Everyone should have a place like this, but this one’s mine.

“There’s the call. Dinner’s ready. Gotta run. I hope it’s chicken.”

    1. I’m an introvert. I need my alone time often! Was I a cat in another life? Probably not because I’m a dog person in this life! 🙂 Thanks for dropping by!

  1. There’s a kitty cat theme this week, but lovely work with the POV — very strong and believable. I love the way so many people are using this “space” created by the photo so differently.

I love to hear from my readers! Don't be shy.
