She found the bottle near the inlet to the lake.

The message inside read:

As the sun touches the western horizon, face it and walk forty yards into the woods to the clearing blackened by last year’s fire.

Look carefully beneath the hillside at the north end of the glade. Among the shadows of the white trees you will see the ghost of Avery Muldoon. Search the area where the ghost appears. A door will lead you to a world beyond your wildest dreams.

How do I know this? I’m Avery Muldoon.

I burned the glade.

I’m waiting for you.

  1. Dear Caerlynn,

This was a great piece. Who among us can resist instructions from the past, a ghost, or a mysterious writer. Avery Muldoon indeed. YOU have created a door in the other world and I’ll bet every reader is itching to follow you there.

    Aloha,

    Doug

I love to hear from my readers! Don't be shy.
