Eye of the beholder

Prompt 100 WCGU: Photo prompt: “Bones”
100-word challenge

“…An airplane propeller, a pot, a tree stump, an elephant tusk, a bat, a cup, a big knife, a sock…”

Enid had been watching her daughter wander around the exhibit, her head tilting left, then right.

“Macy, what are you doing?”

Macy jumped. “Just looking at this pile of junk.”

“That’s not junk, those are old bones from dinosaurs and such.”

“I know, but that’s boring. I think it looks like a pile of stuff that people used once upon a time.”

“Well, At least you’re using your imagination.”

“A prehistoric junk yard!” Macy snickered.

“Graveyard, maybe.”

“Oh Mom!.

    1. If we could only keep that sense of wonder! Thanks for visiting and taking the time to comment. Most appreciated.

  1. Great take on the challenge, Caerlynn. I can see all the objects that Macy spotted – it brings back memories from childhood.

  2. Nicely written. So realistic!! Enjoyed reading the interaction between parent and child.
By the way, I see you are from the US – hence you hadn’t a clue about the rag n’ bone man.

    1. Thanks! So glad you enjoyed it. And, I’m from Canada actually but, yes, it was definitely a new term for me. Interesting!!

I love to hear from my readers! Don't be shy.
