A story inspired by this photo provided by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields.

This photograph was used previously, so I decided to continue the story I wrote then (Penny for your thoughts). You may wish to read it first before reading this week’s story. Enjoy!

“Sad losing two children.”

“What’s that?” Another object leaned between exposed studs. Al pulled out another picture in a gilt frame. He blew off the dust and rubbed the glass, revealing a woman sitting in a chair and a tall handsome man standing with his hand on her shoulder.

“Who could it be?”

“The writing’s faded.” He tilted the back of the photo toward the window.”It says Al… Albert… Wi… Winters?”

Dee’s head jerked up. “That’s your great grandfather’s name. Who’s the woman? She looks so much younger.”

“Um… Dee… Deidre Winters.”

“Your grandmother?”

“Yeah. Albert’s wife died young.”
