“What’s that?” Jane let her bike fall to the gravel road.

“I don’t know,” said Davey, as he stopped beside her.

“Did the aliens drop their probe?” Johnny laughed.

“I think it’s  a magic wand,” offered Jane.

“Nope. Don’t think so. It’s a mutant mussel.”

“Ridiculous. We’re thirty miles from the ocean.” Jane argued.

“Well, don’t step in it. It might be doggy doo!”.

“It’s just a hairball! Pick it up, Davey.” Johnny teased as he nudged it with his boot.

“No, Johnny. I’m not touching it!”

“Oh well, let’s go. I’m hungry.”

“Yeah, me too.”

“Me three, let’s go.”
