fire-roger-bultot100-word Flash Fiction
#FridayFictioneers

This week’s story is inspired by this photograph provided by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields.

Joel bit into his sandwich and smiled.

He was in the driver’s seat. Literally. Watching. It was glorious. The thrill! Just like the fire that took care of that evil cheating man. The man from the green apartment building on 5th Avenue. He would never touch Jane again.

The gurney held one black bag. Too bad. Again he smiled. That fire fighter thinks he’s a hero. I am the hero. I saved her. No one will ever touch her again.

One day he would tell his story. Too bad she wouldn’t be around to know what he did for her.
